This Privacy Policy explains what information pricetickers.com ("PriceTickers", "we", "us") collects when you use our website, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have. PriceTickers is a free information service that tracks prices of new products sold on Amazon.com and eBay and publishes price indices and price charts.

Short version: we do not sell or share your personal information, we do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and you can use the website without creating an account.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

• Connection and log data: when you visit the website, our server and our content delivery network automatically receive your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, your browser type and operating system. We use this data to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix errors. Server logs are deleted or anonymized after 14 days at the latest.
• Search queries: search terms you type into the search fields are stored together with the time and the number of results, without your IP address, browser information, cookies or any other identifier. Terms that look like personal information (for example email addresses, URLs or phone numbers) are discarded. We use this data only to improve search, and we delete it after 180 days.
• Price alerts (only if you use this feature where it is offered): your email address, the selected product, your target price or alert type, and the times of sign-up, confirmation and notification.
• Emails you send us: your email address, your name if you provide it, and the content of your message.

We do not ask for and do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, financial account data, precise geolocation, health data or biometric data).

3. Hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare)

The website runs on our own server located in Germany. It is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) as content delivery network and reverse proxy. Cloudflare processes connection data such as your IP address on our behalf in order to deliver the website quickly and to protect it against attacks.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

pricetickers.com uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work. The public website does not set advertising, profiling or analytics cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics, tracking pixels or session recording. A session cookie is used only for logging in to our internal administration area and does not affect visitors.

5. Price alerts by email (Brevo)

If you set up a price alert, the alert only becomes active after you click the link in our confirmation email (double opt-in). We use your information solely to notify you about price changes of the selected product. Every alert email contains a link to delete the alert, and the management page lets you delete all of your alerts at once; the related data is then deleted immediately. Unconfirmed alerts are deleted after 7 days, and triggered or replaced alerts after 30 days.

Emails are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany), which acts as our service provider and processes your email address, the content of the message and delivery data (such as delivery status) on servers in the European Union.

6. Protection against abuse (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect forms such as the price alert sign-up against bots and misuse of other people's email addresses, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. When you submit a protected form, Turnstile processes technical data such as your IP address and browser and device information to check that the request comes from a human. Turnstile does not set advertising cookies.

7. Affiliate links (Amazon, eBay)

PriceTickers is funded through affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program and the eBay Partner Network. When you click a link to a retailer, you leave our website. Amazon, eBay or their affiliate networks may then set cookies or use similar technologies on their own websites to attribute a purchase to us. We do not receive any personal information about you or your purchase from them; we only receive aggregated commission reports. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies.

8. Product images

Product images are loaded directly from the image servers of Amazon (m.media-amazon.com) and eBay (i.ebayimg.com). For technical reasons, these providers receive your IP address and browser information when your browser loads an image. No cookies are set by these image requests.

9. Share links

The "Share" button opens your device's share menu or plain links to social networks or email. No data is sent to these networks when you view our pages; only if you click such a link are you taken to the respective provider, which processes your data under its own privacy policy.

10. How we use and disclose information

We use the information described above only to provide, secure and improve the website, to send price alerts you requested, and to answer your messages. We disclose personal information only to service providers that process it on our behalf for these purposes (Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery and bot protection; Brevo for sending alert emails), and where required by law.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.

11. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this policy. Even where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, may not apply to us, we voluntarily honor the following rights for all users.

Categories of personal information collected in the preceding 12 months, with sources and purposes:

• Identifiers (IP address; email address if you use price alerts or contact us) - collected from you and your device - to deliver and secure the website, send requested alerts and answer messages.
• Internet or other electronic network activity information (log data, pages viewed) - collected from your device - for security, operation and error analysis.
• Approximate location that can be inferred from an IP address - collected from your device - not used by us beyond security and content delivery.

Retention: log data up to 14 days; search queries (not linked to you) 180 days; price alert data until you delete the alert, 7 days if unconfirmed and 30 days after an alert was triggered or replaced; emails as long as needed to handle your request.

You have the right to:

• Know: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes and the categories of recipients.
• Delete: request deletion of personal information we have collected from you.
• Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; see our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" page.
• Limit the use of sensitive personal information: we do not use sensitive personal information.
• Non-discrimination: we will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise a right, email us at [email protected]. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (extendable once by another 45 days if necessary, with notice). To protect your information, we will verify your request by matching information you provide with information we hold, for example by asking you to confirm the email address used for a price alert. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for written proof of the agent's authorization and verify your identity directly.

Residents of other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws (for example Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas or Oregon) may make the same requests by email. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision; we will respond to an appeal within the time required by your state's law.

12. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information in the first place, a GPC signal does not change how the website works for you.

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), we disclose how we respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals: we do not track visitors over time and across third-party websites, and we do not allow third parties to do so on our website. We therefore treat all visitors the same way, whether or not a DNT signal is sent.

13. Children's privacy (COPPA)

pricetickers.com is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information (for example by signing up for a price alert), please contact us and we will delete it.

14. International data transfers

We are based in Germany, and our server is located in Germany. If you access the website from the United States or elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in Germany and the European Union, and by our service providers in the countries where they operate, including the United States. Data protection laws there may differ from those in your state. We protect your information as described in this policy wherever it is processed.

15. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access and data minimization. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be indicated on this page.
